2008 Toller Memories-Bring On 2009!

I usually do something a little more upbeat, but I feel rather ambivalent about 2008. Some of the worst things happened (losing Dixie, almost losing Meredith), and some of the best (winning the National Specialty). So, that's why the song "Fly Away" by Lenny Kravitz...I'm kinda glad 2008 "flew" by... I have high hopes that things will be better for everyone in 2009.

Come on IN! lol

Well, we are seeing the dormitory effect at JavaHill. Several of the girls are either in heat, or about to come in. I'm excited as I finally will be breeding Maverick's very special daughter Dynamite (Dyna for short). Dyna has exquisite structure, tho' she is on the small side of the standard. I love her unflappable nature. She is rather independent, but very easy to be around.

Dyna is being bred to Scotch, who is a sweet, happy boy that compliments her very well. In a couple of months I guess I'll get to see what happens when you mix Scotch with Dynamite!!

Winnie has also been bred, with a quick flight to Ottawa to meet up with her favorite beau REV! Pups will be whelped and raised by our friend Donna LaHaise.

Proud Grandma Brags

Got some great news while in Canada that I should share.

Maverick son Burn finished his AKC CH! He is now Am, NSDTRC-US CH Edlyn Seastar Dodge N Burn, WC, CGC. Congrats to owners Claire Wade and Jane Folkman, and breeder Sherry Seibel of Edlyn Tollers...and of course, congrats to mamma Pixel. Burn is Maverick's 19th AKC Champion get!

Oh Canada! JavaHill's Trip to Tradex

We spent the past week taking in Canada's largest dog show - the Lower Mainland Dog Fancier's show at Tradex in Abbotsford, BC. What a show! Loads of great shopping, people everywhere, and some very interesting exhibitions.

JavaHill dogs brought home far more than their share (always makes up for the other times LOL).

THREE New Canadian CHAMPIONS!

#1: Cooper, now Am/Can CH Tollwest JavaHill Fly Higher. Cooper is a Maverick son.
#2: Torri, now Can CH JavaHill Torri AlohaShine, Am RN. Torri is a Kelsey daughter.
#3: Ray, now Am/Can CH JavaHill's Shine The Light. Ray is Torri's litterbrother.

My travel partner Amy also earned an RN with her boy Nicholas with scores of 99, 98 and 99! Nicholas is now Am/Can CH JavaHill Steal My Heart, Can JH, RN, WC, Am WC. Great job Amy, and thanks for all your help (hubby Paul was awesome too!).

Btw, I have to mention a newcomer to the showring: young Lee McCrory showed his boy Toby, aka JavaHill's Shotgun By The Bay - neither had ever been in the ring before, and they came out with a blue ribbon. They were the only ones in the ring, but as many of you know, the judge does NOT have to award 1st place if they feel the dog is "without Merit"....thanks to Lee and his mom for getting Toby out there, and to Leslie Grant for giving him a short lesson before he went in. Toby did his Mom Rio and daddy Rev proud - he's a really nice dog and moves like the wind!
